This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at EPUT. The post is based at St Aubyn's Centre in Colchester (Longview and Larkwood wards) and Rochford Hospital (Poplar Ward), near Southend on Sea. The role involves supporting the delivery of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, and assisting band 5 Occupational Therapists, Apprentices, and Activity Coordinators.
We provide an integrated service with a holistic assessment of the psychological, social, and physical needs of each referred young person. Assessments are conducted for all young people to determine further inpatient treatment or discharge to appropriate care providers. Our approach emphasizes teamwork and collaborative care planning, with input from:
* Ward Doctors
* Consultant Psychiatrist
* Nurses
* Support Workers
* Psychologists
* Family Therapists
* Educational Staff
Main Duties:
1. Conduct occupational therapy assessments addressing performance and skill deficits related to self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure.
2. Utilize specialist assessments for complex cases.
3. Decide on appropriate treatment interventions.
4. Plan and communicate treatment strategies, involving patients and carers.
5. Share care plans with multidisciplinary team members and partner agencies.
6. Perform manual handling assessments and inform relevant professionals and carers.
7. Collaborate to modify environments to support patient empowerment and functional performance.
