Job Description
Review and administer contracts for assigned commodities. Assist in establishing partnership relationships with suppliers to support company goals and objectives. Assist in developing and implementing programs with suppliers and internal cross-functional team members that address lead time production, order fill rate performance, quality performance, cost reduction, and technical improvements. Evaluate and maintain material requirements plan and ensure systems validity and integrity. Generate and adjust purchase orders in support of MRP requirements and communicate areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals, and suppliers. Interface within a cross-functional team including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Scheduling, and suppliers to resolve issues. Assist in evaluating new suppliers and materials in conjunction with Quality Assurance and Engineering in support of company goals and objectives. Participate in department process improvement and training teams. Perform Crisis Mitigation/Escalation with suppliers and general leadership. Ensure timely and effective completion of Shortage Report, Late P.O.s, MRP Action Messages, and SIMs. Utilize advanced knowledge of material costing commodity market trends to drive favorable PPV and mitigate cost increases from suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Four years of experience in:
• Purchase order management, including creation, tracking, and processing of purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of goods and services in accordance with organizational requirements;
• Supply and Demand Analysis: predicting material requirements based on production schedule, optimizing inventory levels to meet production demands while reducing excess inventory;
• Working with logistics export-import documents;
• Negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships;
• Cost Management: analyzing cost drivers, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers;
• Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, market volatility, and supplier reliability; and
• Working with purchasing and scheduling module logic in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
