BUSINESS FUNCTION/ SUB-FUNCTION: Data and Analytics
LOCATION: All GBS Campuses
SALARY: £37,000-£40,000
ROLE PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our expanding data team. You will build automated analytics solutions that enable self-service across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a data-driven environment where your insights will directly influence strategic decision-making and business performance. You will own end-to-end delivery from requirements gathering through to deployment, working with SQL, Python, and Power BI to transform complex datasets into compelling insights.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage new data projects from end-to-end, gathering requirements through to developing and implementing new Power BI reports and dashboards.
* Engage with stakeholders to validate their requirements, review policies/procedures and present solution options to meet needs.
* Analyse and interpret data to assist in providing action plans to aid decision making, KPI's and deliver an optimal student experience.
* Monitor and assist in audits for data quality, data integrity and data governance.
* Work with & support colleagues across the organisation, building new & improving the existing data dashboards, graphs and visualisations.
* Provide Higher Education sector benchmarking through analysis of outcomes of NSS, TEF, and Graduate Outcome Surveys.
* Connect with colleagues with similar roles to share good practice and contribute to discussions around data capture and analysis.
* Maintain a good understanding of relevant policy and legislation in relation to information governance, security, and compliance.
Essential Skills and Experience
* A good degree in a numerate subject
* Experience in Power BI & DAX for a minimum of 2 years
* Previous experience of data analysis
* Work experience in Higher Education or Public Sector preferable
* Detailed knowledge of statistical techniques and research methodologies
* Experience in presenting data and providing insights via interactive dashboards or presentations
* Experience with R/Python/SPSS or SQL would be advantageous
* Confidence in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to communicate complex data capability in a simple way
* A good understanding of data and model design
* Evidence of effectively prioritising tasks and managing deadlines

* Maintain data security and integrity to the highest level
