A well-established and growing strategic land and residential development business is looking to appoint a Technical Manager with a strong engineering / civil engineering background to support the delivery of a portfolio of residential-led strategic land sites across the South East.
This role will be based in the Sevenoaks office, working closely with land, planning and external consultant teams to help progress sites through the planning system and into deliverable residential developments.
You will play a key role in technical due diligence, infrastructure strategy and engineering design management across a range of sites, typically progressing from early-stage promotion through planning and ultimately sale to housebuilders.
The Role
• Lead and manage technical and engineering aspects of strategic land projects
• Oversee highways, drainage, utilities and infrastructure strategies
• Manage and coordinate external consultants including civil engineers and technical specialists
• Provide technical input to support planning applications and site promotion
• Undertake technical due diligence on new land opportunities
• Work closely with planning and land teams to ensure sites are technically deliverable
• Liaise with local authorities, statutory consultees and infrastructure providers
About You
• Background in civil engineering, engineering consultancy, housebuilding or strategic land promotion
• Strong understanding of highways, drainage, utilities and site infrastructure
• Experience managing external consultants and technical design teams
• Knowledge of the planning process and residential development
• Ideally experience working within a housebuilder, land promoter or developer

The salary is flexible, within the range of £70,000–£85,000, with scope to go higher for the right candidate.
