We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and emotionally intelligent Head of Pastoral Support to join our committed team at a thriving secondary school in Camborne from September 2025.
This is a vital leadership role, ideal for someone who is passionate about student wellbeing, experienced in behavioural management, and understands the complexities of supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:
As Head of Pastoral Support, you will:
* Lead and manage the pastoral team, ensuring high-quality support for all students.
* Develop and implement effective strategies to improve behaviour, attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
* Be a key safeguarding lead and work in close collaboration with SLT, SENCOs, and external agencies.
* Drive a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and respect across the school community.
* Support students through crisis and conflict, using restorative, trauma-informed, and solution-focused approaches.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
* Has significant experience in behaviour management and working with young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a secondary school or similar setting.
* Is a confident and compassionate leader who can inspire and motivate others.
* Has a deep understanding of safeguarding, child development, and the barriers to learning.
* Is calm under pressure, emotionally resilient, and committed to restorative, student-centred practice.
* Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Formal qualifications in pastoral care, education, counselling, or behaviour support are desirable but not essential.
