Are you a Design Engineer who enjoys seeing your work come to life?
Shields (Driffield) Ltd, are looking for a talented and proactiveDesign Engineerto join their growing teamworking on real-world projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.
This is a hands-on role where your designs wont just sit on a screenyoull play a key part in delivering practical engineering solutions across a variety of projects.
What Youll Be Doing
Youll be at the heart of the design process, collaborating across teams and supporting projects end-to-end:
CAD & Design
* Producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (SolidWorks)
* Creating assemblies, DXF files, and flat patterns for manufacturing and CNC processes
* Interpreting technical specifications from clients, suppliers, and internal teams
Project & Technical Support
* Supporting Project Managers and Engineers with design input
* Assisting with design reviews, quality checks, and technical documentation
* Contributing to risk identification and compliance with CDM 2015 regulations
Collaboration & Site Work
* Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
* Supporting site surveys across the UK when required
* Helping ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
To Be Successful
You will be technically strong, detail-focused, and enjoys solving real engineering challenges:
* Level 3+ qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong experience usingSolidWorks
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
* Ability to produce and interpret detailed technical drawings
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
Bonus points if you have:
* Degree in Engineering
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations
* Experience with site work, RAMS, or health & safety training
