The Role
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to join their refurbishment division in Hertfordshire.
As the Senior Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost tenders in a contracting environment and assist the Head of Preconstruction in overseeing the work of junior members of the estimating team.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Attend pre-tender launch meeting and contribute to the development of tender win strategy
* Visit site to gain a full understanding of the project to be priced
* Identify risks and opportunities, including those in relation to design development on design and build tenders, and agree pricing strategy with the bid team to ensure a coordinated approach
* Coordinate input from supply chain design team and utilise outline designs to establish most economical build method, where appropriate incorporating best practice/innovative solutions to enhance the tender
* Ensure that accurate take offs are prepared from drawings in accordance with the appropriate standard method of measurement
* Manage supply chain enquiries and returns and test and interrogate accuracy of returns, making appropriate adjustments for qualifications and exclusions
* Prepare preliminaries and design fee budgets with assistance from Design and Operations teams
* Attend and contribute to meetings with the customer team
* Prepare and issue complete and accurate tender handover documentation to the operations team upon notification
* Attend tender handover meetings to assist the delivery team in familiarisation with the project and all key issues upon award
* Proactively develop and maintain good relationships with the supply chain, consultants, and customers to promote the Company’s good reputation
