Purpose of the role
To deliver a timely and reliable financial accounting service, through upload and eliminations within the Comet system, and to provide accurate reporting and analysis from the system. Responsibilities include the preparation of statutory accounts, responding to auditor queries, supporting VAT returns for UK companies, and completing actions related to internal controls.
Key Accountabilities
Supporting standard financial accounting processes, particularly focused on:
* Group reporting
o Uploading data from SAP and SUN into Comet.
o Intercompany reconciliations, including resolving variances.
o Reviewing balance sheets and providing insights into movements.
o Preparing and collating forecast data.
1. UK reporting
* Reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving issues.
* Preparing and posting journals into SAP and SUN.
* Corporate balance sheet
o Coordinating balance sheet reconciliations and managing sections of the balance sheet log.
* Statutory accounts
o Drafting financial statements for review within internal timelines.
* Internal Control
o Working with SSC members to close internal control actions.
o Responding to head office and auditor queries.
Scope: UK Comet consolidation and reporting, ensuring compliance with International Reporting Standards and accurate reporting to Germany.
Experience: Previous finance experience preferred.
