The Governors are looking to appoint a committed, skilled and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant for our Focus Provision to join our well-established team to support children with autism in a dedicated class. This rewarding role will involve supporting individual children/small groups to access personalised learning within and beyond our classroom under the direction of the class teacher and work alongside the Focus Provision team to create resources, including providing visuals and supporting children with specific targets. You will be working with a range of children across the primary age range and need to be flexible and adaptable to each child’s needs. It is vital that you have experience of working with autistic children, using a range of communication strategies and autism specific approaches to teaching and learning. Ongoing training and support will be given to successful candidates. Candidates should have the following qualities and experience: Minimum of NVQ level 2 relevant qualification Working with children across the Primary school age range with pupils who have autism To use initiative to create resources, provide visual aids and work from individualised plans Be passionate, positive and committed to working within our pupils within the Focus Provision.
