Job Title: Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer
Location: Large Commercial Building
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Salary & Benefits:
Up to £40,000 + package
Job Purpose
This client is seeking a Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer to deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a large commercial building. The role ensures all mechanical and HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory regulations and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems
2. Maintain, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air conditioning assets
3. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and site procedures
4. Respond promptly to breakdowns and fault-find safely and logically
5. Support minor installation, upgrade, and adaptation works
6. Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate maintenance records
7. Liaise with building occupants to minimise disruption
8. Operate tools and access equipment safely and correctly
9. Participate in the on-call/standby rota after a qualifying period
10. Work collaboratively with other trades and colleagues
Skills & Experience Required
11. Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
12. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Maintenance Services or equivalent
13. Experience in a complex maintenance environment
14. Strong knowledge of AHUs, chilled water, water systems, and A/C units
15. Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
16. Pipe fitting experience (desirable)
17. Authorised Person - Ventilation (desirable)
