On the back of an ever-increasing workload, Circet UK are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong Civils and Rail project work experience.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Commercial Manager in implementing commercial reporting systems and procedures to maximise the commercial benefits of all responsible contracts, with particular focus on risk mitigation, pricing of variations, detailed cost management, and day-to-day management of contracts or a portfolio of contracts.
Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing cost-analysis and estimating processes against an agreed Schedule of Rates.
2. Preparing Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules, and analyzing tender documents.
3. Reviewing complex contract programmes.
4. Assisting with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
5. Monitoring subcontract activities, measuring, and responding appropriately.
6. Analyzing the commercial progress and reporting to senior project staff.
7. Managing commercial aspects with customers and stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
8. Undertaking constructability analyses using construction programmes.
9. Preparing procurement programmes and helping develop strategies.
10. Analyzing rates and prices, and agreeing on variations or compensation events as required.
11. Preparing, submitting, and negotiating claims when necessary.
12. Preparing internal reports, commercial progress, and financial reconciliations.
13. Conducting cost valuations and negotiations with subcontractors.
14. Procurement of all supply items and subcontractor packages.
15. Preparing interim valuations.
16. Chairing site and client progress meetings.
17. Regularly updating projected final accounts.
18. Mentoring and leading junior commercial staff.
19. Managing cash flow forecasts.
20. Preparing and agreeing on all final account matters.

Knowledge Requirements:
* Degree qualification or equivalent.
* Proven ability to manage complex and multiple bids.
* Understanding of pricing, cost, and profit.
* Basic understanding of contract language.
* Experience with NEC3 contracts.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
