Job Title: Interim Qualified Accountant
We are currently recruiting for an Interim Qualified Accountant for an established and reputable company in Lancashire. This contract role is to cover maternity leave and seeks a candidate with a strong background in financial accounting, ideally trained in practice. Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the preparation of the Group’s statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other standards.
2. Managing half-year and year-end external reporting processes, including notes and disclosures.
3. Acting as the main contact for external auditors, coordinating audits and resolving queries.
4. Liaising with external tax advisors on corporate tax matters, including tax computations and deferred tax.
5. Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, with strong controls and governance.
6. Assisting in preparing and reviewing consolidated financial reports.
7. Providing cover for other departments (FP&A, management accounting) as needed.
8. Improving financial processes and controls to follow best practices.
9. Collaborating with finance leadership on financial reporting developments and regulatory changes.
