CARTERS Hastings has an opportunity for a Customer Service Representative to join their busy team in the Timber Yard. This physical role involves picking and packing orders and operating a forklift to load/unload building products.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and pride themselves on exceptional service and delivery to our customers in a timely, professional, and safe manner. You can expect 60% of your time operating a forklift and the remaining time will be hands-on. With your high energy and can-do attitude, you can expect to:
1. Load and unload building materials either with a forklift or manual handling
2. Pick and assemble customer orders
3. Process sales documentation
4. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers on and off site
5. Perform cycle counts and assist with day to day branch operations
About you
You will be the perfect fit for this role if you are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and have the following skills and qualities:
6. Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence is essential
7. Forklift F Endorsed Licence with OSH Certificate is desirable
8. Building industry experience is preferred
9. A team player with the right attitude and willingness to learn
10. A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers and maintaining relationships
11. Basic computer skills
12. Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry
13. Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
