Learning Support Assistant – & SEN Support (Witham Area)
Location: Across schools in Witham
Pay: £89–£95 per day | Paid weekly (PAYE)
Do you instinctively know how to bring calm to chaos and connection to children who need it most?
We’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with pupils in the Witham area - supporting emotional, behavioural, and learning needs in a mix of mainstream primary school settings. You’ll work closely with the SEN team and teaching staff, helping pupils access learning, regulate emotions, and feel safe, seen, and supported in their day.
This is a full-time role with the potential to go permanent for the right person.
What the role involves:
* 1:1 support with a pupil needing consistent emotional and learning support
* Helping pupils engage with class routines or work within a small group or therapeutic setting
* Using strategies to support regulation, reduce anxiety, and boost confidence
* Being part of a team including SENCo, teachers, and well-being leads
* Adapting to the unique needs of each child - you’ll be flexible, patient, and full of care
We’re open to:
* Experienced LSAs who’ve worked in SEN, behaviour support, or therapeutic roles
* People with relevant experience from other sectors - social care, youth work, or mental health
* Career changers looking for a meaningful role with real impact
We’d love to hear from you if you:
* Have a calm, consistent approach and build trust quickly
* Are emotionally intelligent and can manage challenging behaviours with empathy
* Understand (or are willing to learn) trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques
* Have a Level 2/3 TA qualification or relevant experience (not essential)
* Want to be part of a team that genuinely puts children first

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
