Finance Assistant
Lafford Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing housing company. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance within a supportive and ambitious organisation.

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 (DOE)

Key responsibilities
* Assist with processing financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts
* Support the preparation of monthly reconciliations and basic financial reports
* Maintain accurate financial records and assist with filing and document management
* Help monitor departmental budgets and track day‑to‑day expenditure
* Assist with VAT returns and routine financial compliance tasks under supervision
* Provide support to the Company Accountant during year‑end processes and audits
* Carry out general administrative duties to support the finance team
* Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to help resolve straightforward queries
Skills & Experience
* Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles
* Prior experience in a finance‑related position is beneficial but not a necessity
* Capability using Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
* Familiarity with accounting software is desirable but not essential
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
