Role Overview
A Healthcare Assistant supports nurses and other healthcare professionals by providing basic patient care and helping patients with their daily needs. You’re often the person patients see the most, so the role is very hands-on and people-focused.
Key Responsibilities

Helping patients with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)

Supporting patients with mobility (walking, moving, using hoists)

Taking basic observations (temperature, pulse, blood pressure)
*
Helping patients eat and drink
*
Making beds and keeping patient areas clean and tidy
*
Assisting nurses and doctors during care procedures
*
Monitoring patients and reporting concerns to nursing staff
*
Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and families
*
Following infection control and health & safety procedures
*
Keeping basic patient records up to date
