Northwest Ambulance Service are looking to recruit a Patient Transport Team Leader in the West Cumbria Area. The main base will be at Flimby Ambulance Station with responsibility for satellite bases in Distington and Egremont. The successful applicant will be expected to cover the North Cumbria Group of bases in Carlisle, Penrith and Wigton on an ad hoc basis.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Patient Transport Service Team Leader in the West 4 Operational Sector. Based in West Cumbria you will be directly responsible for the effective management and leadership of a team of operational staff, and you will be responsible within your locality for ensuring the continued delivery of the high quality and efficient service that we provide to our patients and stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a committed individual who is wishing to progress into a supervisory role. Ideally, you should have significant operational experience, have a flexible attitude towards work and be willing to travel within the operational group if required to do so, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in order to meet the demands of a challenging and dynamic role.

Working for our organisation
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

1. Have or be working towards a Management or Supervisory qualification. CMI level 2 NVQ 3
2. Literacy and numeracy to standards equivalent to GSCE level
3. Full driving licence
