Job Description
Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
* Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors, ensuring everyone feels supported and follows site procedures.
* Conducting regular safety and security patrols, maintaining vigilance across buildings, perimeters, and restricted areas.
* Ensuring compliance with regulations, site-specific processes, and security protocols, adapting quickly to different environments and expectations.
* Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations, searches, incident responses, and liaising with emergency services when required.
* Identifying, reporting, and helping prevent security risks, disruptions, or suspicious activity through proactive awareness and accurate communication.
* Maintaining clear and detailed records, including incident logs, access reports, and thorough handovers to ensure continuity across shifts.
Please note - The responsibilities listed here aren’t the full picture—but they give you a good sense of the role. If you meet the minimum requirements and believe you’ve got what it takes to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who brings flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude to every site they support. Someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and is ready to grow in a role where every day is different. Ideally, you’ll have:
* A valid SIA licence, demonstrating your commitment to professional standards.
* Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends, adapting to changing site needs as a Relief Officer.
* The right to work in the UK, with a 5‑year checkable history to meet vetting requirements..
* Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken—for clear, confident interactions.
* Your own transport, enabling you to travel reliably between multiple sites as needed.
And because this role supports a range of environments, we’re also looking for someone who is motivated by variety—comfortable working across:
* Patrol duties, ensuring buildings, perimeters, and restricted areas remain safe and secure.
* Reception and front‑of‑house responsibilities, where you’ll be the welcoming, reassuring presence for visitors and staff.
* Control room operations, including monitoring CCTV, managing access control systems, and responding to incidents in real time.
