About the role
The Lead CRM Engineer leads the CRM engineering capability team, sharing best practice and developing standards, patterns, automation, and tools while reducing technical debt and operational risks. The role also designs and enhances our CRM platform to support our engineering strategy and applies specialist knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
What you will do
* Lead all aspects of the software development life cycle: requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation.
* Apply Lean and Agile principles to produce high‑quality, maintainable code.
* Collaborate with Solution Architects to design new solutions aligned with the CRM engineering strategy.
* Steer the technical design and development of new products from scratch.
* Work with Product Managers, Service Designers, UX Designers, Business Analysts and other stakeholders to identify user needs and iteratively design solutions.
* Lead the CRM engineering capability team in sharing best practice, developing standards, patterns, automation & tools, and reducing technical debt.
* Apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to monitor and improve availability, performance and security of CRM products.
* Manage release operations and line‑lead 2–5 CRM engineers, coaching them to grow their skills and careers.
Essential qualifications
* Ability to write clean, readable, well‑tested code using proven design patterns.
* Experience building applications on the existing CRM platform (Siebel) and/or future CRM (Salesforce); data‑model design, custom UIs, custom logic and integration.
* Experience running critical services in production and designing highly available, scalable, secure solutions.
* Acted as a Senior or Lead within an Engineering team, developing new features from scratch and reviewing junior engineers’ work.
Desirable qualifications
* Understanding of business problems and translation into solution designs.
* Knowledge of modern software‑development methods (Scrum, Kanban) and approaches (TDD, BDD, CI, CD).
* Excellent communication skills with technical and business colleagues.
* Experience in a complex technical environment with conflicting priorities.
* Adaptability to continual change and constructive contribution to improvement cycles.
