A 50-year-old lady living in Huggate requires a personal assistant to join her existing support team on a job share basis. The available hours are 6 hours per week, with coverage needed for holidays and sickness.
The lady has arthritis and mobility issues and may need support to promote positive mental health.
Responsibilities include:
1. Light household duties and promoting organisation
2. Laundry assistance, including folding and putting away clothes
3. Meal assistance: chopping vegetables, prepping ingredients, and preparing simple meals with the lady
4. Medication support: ensuring weekly pill boxes are filled correctly
5. Routine support: helping maintain structured daily and weekly tasks
The ideal candidate would have a driving license and access to a vehicle, be reliable, and capable of prompting and encouraging an organised lifestyle.
DBS and reference checks are required for this role, with costs covered by the local authority.
The Direct Payments Support Service, provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, promotes independent choice and inclusion by allowing service users to employ their own care and support staff.
