A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to join its Group Risk function in London.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a high-performing second line risk team, working across a complex and regulated environment.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing development and oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to strengthen risk awareness, governance, and control effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with first line teams to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise and operational risks
* Lead risk deep dives and thematic reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of controls
* Manage emerging risk and top risk identification and assessment processes
* Lead the annual risk appetite review process
* Produce insightful risk reporting and management information for senior stakeholders
* Support risk governance activities and facilitate quarterly risk forums
* Drive improvements in risk culture and awareness across the organisation
* Maintain and enhance the ERM framework, including control assurance standards
* Develop and maintain risk taxonomies and control libraries
* Support embedding of risk frameworks through risk management systems and tooling
* Contribute to the development of risk policies, standards, and procedures
* Identify opportunities to simplify and enhance existing risk processes
* Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practice
Requirements
* Proven experience within enterprise or operational risk management in financial services
* Strong understanding of ERM frameworks and control assurance methodologies
* Experience leading risk assessments, governance forums, and stakeholder engagement
* Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
* Strong analytical and data capabilities with a technology-forward mindset
* Experience with risk systems/platforms is advantageous
* Knowledge of model risk frameworks would be beneficial
* Exposure to Copilot or other generative AI tools is a plus
