Overview
Our client, a reputable developer/contractor, is looking for an experienced Construction Planner to join our growing team in Leeds, specialising in the delivery of care home and healthcare-related construction projects. You will be instrumental in developing, monitoring, and updating programmes to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience in projects where resident safety, regulatory compliance, and phased delivery are critical.
Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using industry-recognised planning software (Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or MS Project).
* Support pre-construction and bid teams by preparing tender programmes, logistics plans, and methodology statements specific to care home projects.
* Monitor site progress and highlight any delays, risks, or opportunities with clear mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate scheduling and programme reporting.
* Assist with resource and cost loading to support financial forecasting.
* Ensure all planning activities align with the unique requirements of care home environments, including staged handovers, safety regulations, and minimal disruption to residents or neighbouring facilities.
Requirements
* Proven track record as a Construction Planner, ideally with experience in care home, healthcare, or residential projects.
* Proficiency in Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
* Good knowledge of construction methodologies and regulatory frameworks within care/healthcare settings.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (desirable).
