Job Advert: 1:1 Support Assistant (Primary School)

About the Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive primary school team. The successful candidate will work closely with a specific pupil who requires additional support due to [e.g. special educational needs / autism / speech and language difficulties / behavioural needs].

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual support for a named pupil throughout the school day.
* Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.
* Adapt classroom activities to meet the child’s learning and emotional needs.
* Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction.
* Assist with personal care if required (dependent on pupil’s needs).
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews of progress and provision.

✅ We’re Looking for Someone Who:
* Has experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting.
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience.
* Communicates clearly and confidently with children and adults.
* Can work well as part of a team but also shows initiative.
* Understands the importance of inclusive education.
* Holds or is willing to work towards a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
