In-Home ESOL Tutor Needed – SEN Experience Required
We are looking for a kind, patient, and experienced English tutor (ESOL) to support a young learner in developing their English language skills. The student has additional learning needs and would benefit from a calm, personalised approach. This is a one-to-one, in-person role based in the family’s home, with flexible working hours.

About the Student:
* A school-aged child who speaks English as an additional language
* Needs support with foundational English skills: speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension
* Has Special Educational Needs (SEN), including processing and communication challenges
* Responds well to structure, consistency, and visual or interactive learning techniques

Role Overview:
* Deliver one-to-one English lessons tailored to the student’s language level and learning style
* Use strategies suited to SEN, ensuring lessons are engaging, clear, and achievable
* Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages progress and builds confidence
* Communicate with parents regularly to share updates on progress

What We’re Looking For:
* Experience teaching ESOL or EAL to children, ideally with SEN experience
* A flexible, friendly, and empathetic teaching style
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* An enhanced DBS check (current or willing to obtain)

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or similar certification
* Experience working with neurodiverse students (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech or language delays)
* Familiarity with home tutoring or one-on-one education

* Location: Lessons take place in the student’s home (address shared after shortlisting)
* Hours: Part-time, flexible
* Start Date: As soon as available

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
