Technical Advisor – Monitoring and Data Systems Team

On this role you will join a multi‑disciplinary Monitoring Data & Systems Department (MDS) dedicated to managing environmental monitoring systems and datasets. The role primarily supports Water Quality systems and data, but may also support other systems and data as required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Setting up and managing user access to monitoring systems.
* Supporting users and resolving issues, particularly during the transition to the new My Environment application.
* Updating, improving, and maintaining datasets.
* Responding to internal and external data requests.
* Contributing to system improvement and upgrade projects.
* Participating in incident response duties and training.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with large, complex datasets.
* A willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Proactive problem‑solving attitude and eye for detail.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and provide excellent customer service.
* Desirable: experience with environmental monitoring data systems, PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, R, and knowledge of water quality monitoring.

Work location is flexible, with a base required at one of the Agency offices across England. Hybrid home/office working is available, though some travel will be expected.
