Job Title: Estimator – Electrical Bias

Overview
On behalf of a key client, we are recruiting an ambitious Electrical Estimator to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on estimating role with clear progression into management over time.
The role will suit an experienced estimator ready to take ownership of complex bids, or a motivated professional with strong estimating skills who is looking to grow into a leadership position.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Review and analyse incoming enquiries, defining project scope and identifying specialist subcontract requirements.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects ranging from £250k to £5 million in value.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain compliant quotations that meet client specifications.
* Develop detailed proposals and presentations, highlighting any risks, exclusions, and qualifications.
* Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to manage elements not completed in-house.
* Attend internal and client meetings to support the estimating process and project handover.
* Maintain up-to-date estimate logs and ensure accurate project records.
* Support the team in achieving compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality, and information security standards.
Skills & Attributes Required
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience with Enterprise Estimating (© Trimble Inc. 1999–2024) is highly desirable, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Strong communication, organisation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* A collaborative, proactive approach with ambition to progress into team leadership.
* Full UK driving licence (restrictions apply for certain offence codes).
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum of three years' estimating experience in the electrical industry.
* Knowledge of current IEE Wiring Regulations and relevant British Standards.
* Demonstrable experience in estimating projects up to £5 million.
Working Arrangements
The role is ideally office-based to work closely with the estimating team, with some scope for agile working arrangements.
