Role Overview
Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about employee relations and fostering a fair, consistent, and people-focused workforce? We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our friendly HR & OD team.
You will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused ER service, providing professional advice on employee relations matters such as disciplinary actions, grievances, and attendance issues. You will also help to simplify and improve HR policies across our partner organizations, contributing to a modern approach to people management.
You will collaborate with a Senior HR Advisor, HR & OD Apprentice, and external partners to support effective service delivery. This role offers a great opportunity to influence change, support cultural development, and contribute to a progressive People & OD strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage employment policies and casework
* Facilitate informal resolutions where appropriate
* Coordinate with shared service operations to meet organizational requirements
* Maintain governance over policies, procedures, and contracts
* Handle casework, including attending hearings and managing workforce issues such as sickness absence and mental health
* Identify risks related to employment tribunal claims and financial exposure
* Monitor investigation timelines and escalate delays, implementing mitigating actions
* Support service improvement, training, and positive managerial practices
* Review and develop HR policies and operational processes
* Provide expert advice on policies and procedures
* Recommend improvements and identify risks and opportunities
* Oversee formal HR casework, including panel management
Skills & Experience
* Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent experience
* Experience advising managers in a unionized environment
* Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
* Experience managing complex ER casework and organizational change
* Solutions-focused and professional approach
Flexibility to work irregular hours for events and meetings, with reasonable notice, is required.
