SEN Teaching Assistant Are you a compassionate and resilient educator with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leigh. This is a rewarding, full-time position supporting children across Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role is set to start as soon as possible and is an ongoing contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The Role In this position, you will work closely with the school's SENDCO and class teachers to ensure that pupils with additional needs can access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include: Providing tailored support to children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties. Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting sensory breaks. Using inclusive communication tools such as PEC's or Makaton (where applicable). Managing challenging behaviour with a calm, nurturing, and consistent approach. Assisting pupils with their social and emotional development during play and lesson time.
