Who we Are?
Working as part of the integrated IMRDS for Capital Delivery, reporting to the mains renewal senior engineer, you will oversee the design, engineeringand project managingof the capital mains renewal schemes that fall within the Capital DeliveryMains Renewal programme. Predominantly focusing on Trenchless and no dig techniques including directional drilling and slip lining, championing innovative solutions to reduce scope of works to maximise benefit and capitalisation across the AWS region safely, to budget and within agreed timescales. The designs will deliver cost and benefit efficiencies and facilitate the drive towards achievement of the AMP8 main Laying & efficiency targets, whilst adding value to the supply and network asset base.
Key Responsibilities
1. Actively engage in thegovernance processes for schemes being promoted for design ensuring that effective collaboration regarding need has been undertaken and appropriate involvement in the scheme overview
2. Oversee the design process ensuring the creation of the design pack for each project which includes all pre construction information.
3. Visit site as necessary to undertake surveys, verify the proposed solution, identify equipment requirements, conduct site meetings with external stakeholders or support Delivery Team site checks
4. UndertakeStakeholderliaisonand problem solving ofStakeholderissues. Ensurestakeholdercommunication is in line with defined delivery process
5. Maximise benefit withinMains Renewalby ensuring that the wider TOTEX opportunities available are considered in all solutions
6. Project management of budgetfor each scheme
Qualifications, Behaviours & Skills
7. Qualified CDM designer / principle designer
8. SMSTS Qualified & NRSWA supervisor trained
9. Experience of contract management and site supervision
10. Significant experience working on water engineering or similar engineering design projects
11. Experience with water distribution systems.
12. Ability to shape the future company strategy
13. Thorough understanding of the regulatory framework
14. Experience of water supply and network operations
15. Proven ability to understand the infrastructure from a strategic, tactical and operational perspective
16. Proven ability of mains renewal design and engineering
17. Balancing solution requirements with service delivery capabilities
18. Good understanding and experience of the ROV process particularly Root Cause Analysis.
