Overview
Special Education Needs Tutor role at Targeted Provision in Somerset / Bristol. Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We aim to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN / SEND and other needs such as SEMH. Targeted Provision supports children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and tutors provide 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, to raise engagement and improve their educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* These learners are referred by local authorities and schools and require educational and social-emotional support
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide engaging, holistic sessions that meet needs and support progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online assignments

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, providing short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
