Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting a Project Finance Officer for a large public sector organisation, playing a key role in driving efficiency, income optimisation and service improvement, with real influence on strategic decision making.
Your new role
* Supporting the development and delivery of efficiency, cost improvement and income maximisation initiatives
* Producing and interpreting complex financial analysis, benchmarking and value for money studies
* Providing financial input to business cases, service redesign proposals and transformation programmes
* Supporting elective care and waiting list initiatives through robust costing, modelling and monitoring
* Working collaboratively with finance and non finance stakeholders to improve financial performance
* Contributing to the development of resource utilisation strategies and financial frameworks
* Supporting audit processes and implementing agreed recommendations
* Producing high quality financial reports to support strategic and operational decision making
* Deputising for senior finance colleagues when required and representing finance at internal and external meetings
What you'll need to succeed
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide clear financial advice
