Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor (CIC) — North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor 20 hours per week.

We are looking for a friendly and motivated individual to join our Occupational Therapy team at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle as an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor.


Main duties of the job

The Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor will assist the Occupational Therapist to carry out delegated duties, within the acute hospital team.

They will supervise and instruct the patients in activities relating to their treatment programme and regularly feedback to the Occupational Therapist.

The service is part of a strong Occupational Therapy network, with links to the team at the West Cumberland Hospital, as well as the wider health and social care settings across North Cumbria. This provides many professional development opportunities and there is a strong focus on CPD within the team. Experience

* Work as an occupational therapy assistant or equivalent.
* Previous experience of working in an MDT.
* Caring responsibilities.
* Experience of facilitating groups
* Employment in an acute hospital setting.
* Experience working within a rehabilitation setting, preferably stroke.


Qualifications

* Care Certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake.
* GCSE English and maths or equivalent.
* Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
* QCF III (health), equivalent or willingness and ability to undertake.
