Job Title: Night Support Worker – Young People’s Services Location: Lewisham Pay Rate: £17.72 per hour (PAYE) | £23.39 per hour (Umbrella) Contract Type: Temp to Perm Shifts: 20:15 – 07:45 (night shifts), including some weekends based on rota Nearest Train Station: New Cross Gate (approx. 8–10 minutes' walk) Enhanced DBS: Required for both Children & Adults Make a Real Difference in Young Lives Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them build a brighter future? Join our dynamic team at our 5-bed unit in Lewisham, where we support young people aged 16–17 at risk of homelessness, and care leavers aged 18–21. This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to positively influence the lives of young people facing challenging circumstances. What You’ll Be Doing: As a Night Support Worker, you will be central to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. Your responsibilities will include: Empowering Young People * Deliver face-to-face support and personalised life coaching * Create and lead activity programmes that support development and engagement Building Independence * Help young people gain vital life skills including budgeting, cooking, and self-care Community Engagement * Build strong local links to promote integration and a sense of belonging Trauma-Informed Support * Provide emotional support with empathy, sensitivity, and understanding Guiding Future Choices * Equip young people with the tools and confidence to make positive life decisions Additional Responsibilities: * Assist with welfare benefit applications and attend key appointments * Manage rent collection and support financial independence * Maintain high property standards, including health & safety checks * Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and concerns are addressed promptly What We’re Looking For: * Experience working with vulnerable young people or within supported housing * Strong interpersonal skills and a trauma-informed approach * Ability to work night shifts, including weekends on a rota * A valid Enhanced DBS for Children & Adults (or willingness to obtain) * Driving not essential, but desirable
