Job Title: ESOL Tutor
Location:Greater Manchester Area
Contract:(Sessional, ongoing contract with potential for permanent) (Monday - Friday)
Salary:Up to £26,000 DOE
Essential Requirement:Must be a driver with access to own vehicle
Role Overview:
As an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Tutor, you will be dedicated to delivering high-quality, engaging, and tailored English language instruction to adult learners from diverse backgrounds. Your role is pivotal in helping learners develop their English proficiency, enabling them to communicate effectively, integrate into their communities, and improve their employability prospects.
Ongoing Sessional Contract Overview:
Anongoing sessional contractmeans that the role continues based on demand and funding. It is session-based, meaning work is assigned as needed. However, in this case, it operates as afull-time, rolling contract, meaning it provides consistent work Monday to Friday with potential for renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver structured ESOL lessons that align with curriculum standards and individual learner needs, covering speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Personalized Learning: Conduct initial assessments to determine students' proficiency levels and create customized Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) that cater to their strengths and areas for improvement.
Assessment & Feedback: Monitor progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to help learners achieve their personal and academic goals.
Safeguarding & Inclusion: Foster an inclusive learning environment that supports students with different abilities, backgrounds, and experiences, while ensuring compliance with Safeguarding and Prevent policies.
Employability & Life Skills: Equip learners with language skills essential for employment, further education, and day-to-day life, boosting their confidence and independence.
Collaboration & Development: Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and community organizations to enhance learners experiences and progression opportunities.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies, qualification frameworks, and ESOL best practices to maintain high teaching standards.
Key Achievements:
Successfully supported learners in achieving accredited ESOL qualifications and progressing into employment or further education.
Developed innovative teaching materials and strategies tailored to learners with diverse learning styles and needs.
Maintained high learner engagement and retention rates through interactive and student-centred teaching methods.
