Chubb Systems now has an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor working out of either Blackburn. The main goal of this role is to manage the commercial aspects of a portfolio of design and build projects of a gross value of circa £ million to £10 million.
This is a hybrid role, working from various locations, including home, Blackburn office and nationwide project sites. The role is likely to require stays overnight close to site locations. The candidate will be of a strong and tenacious personality with a strong technical background. A team player but with an ability to work individually as appropriate, the candidate will also be target and result focused.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
12. Administration of the Main Contract(s) including assisting with Project Control information, Change Management and Cash collection
13. Administration of the Subcontract Agreements holistically under the portfolio, including execution of the project subcontract strategy
14. Provide advisory service regarding various standard forms of agreement (including FIDIC, JCT, NEC, ICE, etc.), their administration ensuring best practices are adopted and implemented throughout the project life span including inception, delivery and close out
15. Assist in development and responsibility for procurement and negotiation of all Subcontracts
16. Commercial management of all Subcontract works – NEC3 (plus all other standard forms and Options)
17. Managing Change, including valuing change and agreeing value consequences to Subcontractors
Project Management
18. Working with the Project Manager to identify early warnings within the Subcontract environment
19. Assisting in the administration of Instructions and the like.
20. Assisting with preparation of accurate project control information to evaluate progress against the agreed construction programme(s).
Compliance
21. Manages the teams ethics, quality and EHs requirements, ensuring that all of the team are aware of their EH&S obligations and that they understand and comply with EH&S Policies
22. Ensure that the team maintain a safe place of work and working environment both on site & off site
Experience
23. Experience of the JCT standard suite of Contracts essential
24. Experience of the NEC 3 suites of Contracts essential
Qualifications
Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:
Of graduate calibre with
25. Experience in business processes with a “hands-on” approach, sharing and enacting best practice
26. Experience of Quantifying works in accordance with Standard Measurement Rules
27. Experience in the Administration of Contracts in both Client and Subcontract
28. Experience in influencing and management of confrontational and difficult situations in a professional manner
