Private Client & Partnership Tax Manager (In-House)
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive + strong benefits
Contract: Permanent
A newly created opportunity has opened within the Glasgow-based tax function of a leading international professional services firm. As the organisation continues to grow and evolve, the UK tax team is being strengthened with the addition of an experienced private client tax professional.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical personal tax and partnership work, but wants broader exposure, better balance, and the chance to shape how the role develops.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for a substantial UK private client and partnership tax portfolio, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
The role is deliberately structured to provide variety:
1. ~70% UK personal / partnership tax compliance
2. ~30% advisory & project work, including complex partner tax matters, structuring, and process improvements
You’ll operate in a collaborative, well-resourced environment where tax is taken seriously — but micromanagement isn’t.
Key Responsibilities
3. Review and preparation of UK personal tax returns for partners
4. Partnership tax compliance, including computations, returns, and tax payment coordination
5. Liaison on double tax relief claims and cross-border matters where required
6. Oversight of service company and related entity tax compliance
7. Supporting advisory projects linked to partnership structures and operational change
8. Improving processes, controls, and the use of tax technology within the function
9. Acting as a trusted technical point of contact for internal stakeholders
About You
This role will suit a technically confident private client tax specialist who enjoys responsibility and autonomy.
You’ll likely bring:
10. Strong experience in UK personal tax, ideally including high-net-worth or partner populations
11. Exposure to partnership tax (advantageous, not essential)
12. Experience at Tax Assistant Manager or Manager grade within an accounting or law firm
13. Confidence managing large, deadline-driven compliance portfolios
14. Solid technical grounding with the ability to explain tax clearly to non-tax colleagues
15. ATT/CTA (or equivalent) qualification preferred
Why This Role?
16. New role with genuine scope to influence and develop
17. A rare in-house style role for private client specialists
18. Excellent training and coaching
19. Hybrid working that actually works
20. Long-term career progression within a global organisation
