We are currently looking for a Technical Supervisor (Gas) to join our team.

Overview
As a Technical Supervisor (Gas), you will play a key operational role overseeing a wide range of gas-related maintenance, installation and improvement works across multiple contracts. You’ll directly supervise up to 20 operatives and engineers, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, high-performing gas boiler installation programme and associated maintenance services.
With expert technical knowledge and strong leadership ability, you will support the Service Delivery Manager to maximise productivity, drive operational excellence and maintain outstanding levels of customer satisfaction.
Duties:
Technical Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of gas workstreams and ensuring excellent service delivery across planned, responsive and compliance activity. Duties include:
* Supervise gas-related operations across a variety of building maintenance contracts, ensuring services meet business and customer expectations.
* Ensure operatives are fully deployed each day and productivity is maximised.
* Monitor supply chain performance daily, ensuring appointments are attended and contractual obligations are met.
* Identify performance or delivery issues, taking corrective action and escalating where required.
* Carry out site visits to inspect works, resolve operational issues and engage with operatives, contractors, customers and stakeholders.
* Complete performance management responsibilities including 1-2-1’s, reviews, investigations and toolbox talks.
* Record work-in-progress, post inspections and H&S inspections accurately and act on findings.
* Understand and work to key performance targets, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to achieve objectives.
* Foster strong teamwork across operational teams and encourage collaboration, motivation and shared performance goals.
* Support and work with other internal teams to ensure joined-up service delivery.
* Manage the LBBD WeFix DLO workforce in line with the Services Management Contract.
* Promote and embed a strong Health, Safety & Wellbeing culture across all activities.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, financial controls and governance requirements.
* Drive high-quality, customer-focused service delivery at all times.
* Take a proactive approach to commercial awareness and continuous improvement.
* Maintain compliance with Data Protection, GDPR and internal IT policies.
* Take responsibility for your own professional development.
Health & Safety
* Ensure all statutory and legal H&S requirements are met for staff, buildings, residents and the public.
* Action Health & Safety recommendations and escalate where appropriate.
* Lead by example in promoting a positive H&S culture across teams.
* Identify and implement changes needed to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
Project Management
* Supervise allocated work programmes ensuring delivery on time, on budget and to required standards.
* Use relevant IT systems and software to support operational delivery.
Customer Care
* Provide fair, accessible services focused on delivering excellent customer experience.
* Ensure complaints and correspondence are handled within agreed timescales.
* Promote outstanding customer care in all activities.
Financial Management
* Manage ordering of works and validate claims to ensure accurate financial records.
* Ensure efficient delivery of services within financial targets.
* Follow financial procedures and encourage commercial thinking and value for money across teams.
People Management
* Directly manage up to 20 trade operatives and gas engineers.
* Lead on performance, wellbeing, communication and engagement across your team.
* Foster a strong team culture where ideas, innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
* Oversee technical performance, quality, cost control and efficient delivery of services.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
* City & Guilds or equivalent trade qualification
* Experience working in Local Authority, DLO or contractor environments
* Experience supervising or managing multi-disciplinary teams
* Strong experience in a commercial, performance-driven organisation
* Proven ability to lead operational change and drive continuous improvement
Preferred:
* SMSTS / Site Safety Management qualification
* HNC/ONC in Building (or equivalent)
* Gas Safe Registered (domestic and/or commercial servicing & installation)
Working Arrangements:
Working pattern: Full time, 36 hours per week
Location: Dagenham (site-based role)
Salary:
Up to £50, (DOE)
