Construction Administrator - Ipswich, Suffolk

Clearfield Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Administrator to join a busy and supportive office in Ipswich, Suffolk, working closely with Surveyors and Contract Managers on a range of construction projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in the construction industry who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organisational skills, and understands the importance of accurate documentation and compliance. Prior experience within a building contractor environment is essential, along with a working knowledge of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Surveyors and Contract Managers with daily administrative and project-related tasks
Monitor tender portals, create project files, and maintain accurate documentation
Prepare Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and compliance paperwork
Use HS-Direct software for compiling risk assessments and method statements
Ensure all project documentation meets CDM regulation requirements
Manage calendars, schedule project visits, and assist with planning
Track project progress, including stage payments and invoicing
Act as a point of contact between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Maintain detailed and accurate project records
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous administration experience within a construction or building contractor environment (essential)
Familiarity with health and safety procedures, RAMS, and CDM compliance
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
Resilient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
