Mothercare Global Brand is looking for an IT Assistant to join it's IT Team. The IT Assistant will be the first point of contact for service desk issues, policies and procedures. The primary objective of the role holder is to support the IT Support Manager in ensuring that end users are able to perform their daily duties without any technical obstacle. Within this there will be an element of proactive maintenance as well as the reactive tasks to be performed within given and achievable SLAs.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
* Service desk – The role holder will support with some daily issues that come to the service desk and escalate all other day to day issues to the Technical Support Manager ensuring all issues are dealt with in a timely and expedient manner.
* Hardware support – The role holder will support the IT Support Manager in supporting end user devices which will include maintenance of the operating systems and other policy loaded software.
* Software support – Escalate any reported software issues to either the appropriate member of the IT team or the vendor directly to ensure that any software issues are dealt with in a timely and expedient manner.
* Hardware lifecycle management – Track the age of the device estate and where possible maintain the devices to ensure at least 5 years is achieved in the asset lifecycle. Where new devices are required, under the guidance of the IT Support manger ensure specification and price is obtained.
* Asset Tracking – Ensure that IT has an accurate and up to date log of all assets allocated to users.
* Starters & Leavers Management – Ensure that working with the business all new starter requests are fulfilled ensuring they have the right kit and the right access levels. Similarly ensure that all leaver requests are actioned, and access is revoked appropriately and when requested support the line managers with kit recovery.
* Daily Checks – Ensure physical checks are conducted regularly of the kit onsite within Head Office, this will be printers and meeting room devices. Escalate any action needed to be taken where something is found to be faulty to IT Support Manager.
* IT Admin- Process all invoices for IT team.
* Business Admin- Process Business Related administration such as processing of courier invoices for Product teams for sample assets and manage FedEx relationship.
Knowledge & Skills
* An interest in IT related processes with desire to learn and progress existing junior skills
* A service centric individual with good people skills
* ITIL Knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
