To carry out activities of the Healthy Child Programme as delegated by the Health Visitor within the team in accordance with agreed protocols, acting on own initiative as appropriate to level of knowledge. To advise parents/carers on positive parenting skills including understanding and managing child behaviour, introduction to solids and nutrition, play and stimulation, speech and language development, sleep management and toilet training, ensuring that advice is evidence based to facilitate school readiness. To support families in understanding key developmental milestones, including gross and fine motor skills and communication. To work with specific children and families, in the home, clinic setting or school/nursery according to their individual care plan as agreed with the Health Visitor Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion activities, taking responsibility for certain topics once training received and competency assessment signed off within an agreed timeframe.
