About the role
Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power protection solutions provider to recruit an Electrical Engineer to work in Aberdeen and offshore. This strategically important role offers a competitive salary up to £45,000, overtime, offshore allowance and benefits.
Responsibilities
* Start up, maintain and carry out emergency repairs on batteries, power distribution equipment and site monitoring systems
* Diagnose faults and complete repairs using client technical drawings where required
* Provide technical advice and recommendations to both clients and colleagues
* Prepare and adhere to site‑specific risk assessments and method statements
* Maintain regular communication with the service delivery team
* Accurately complete all required company and customer documentation and administrative tasks
* Work independently while effectively managing own schedule and workload
Professional Qualifications
* Previous field service experience working with UPS systems, switchgear, IPS, SCADA or similar power and electrical environments
* Qualified Electrician/Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4 or higher; HNC, HND or NVQ preferred)
* Strong technical understanding of electrical/electronic engineering with excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
* Proficient in the use of electrical testing instruments and associated tools
* Full, clean UK driving licence held and maintained

* Strong customer‑focused approach with excellent communication skills
* Commercially aware, with the ability to identify and act on business opportunities
* Flexible and willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays (typically one week per month)
* Honest, dependable, and committed to working with integrity
* Collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge and supports colleagues
