Post Title: Adult Autism Support Administrator (Durham) Reporting To: Adult Autism Support Manager Location: The post will be based at our office in Spennymoor in Durham. ​ Training will take place in Daisy Chain, Stockton. Hours: 22.5 hours per week. Working pattern Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm. Friday 9am-5pm Salary: £23,901.08 Duration of Contract: Fixed term until end of May 2028 (with possible extension subject to additional funding) ​ JOB ADVERT Are you highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills? Daisy Chain is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to join our team adult services team. This role will be the first point of contact for autistic young people and adults accessing our service, managing referrals, and ensuring individuals are directed to the most appropriate support. You will also provide essential administrative assistance to ensure the smooth running of the service. No two days are the same in this rewarding role! ​ JOB DESCRIPTION Under the guidance of the Service Manager you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to a newly established team. A key part of this role will be managing referrals efficiently, ensuring that autistic young people and adults (16) are directed to the most appropriate support. The service will accept referrals from individuals living in Durham with a formal autism diagnosis as well as those on the waiting list for assessment. Key Responsibilities: ​ Register new referrals to the service via telephone, using the CRM system. ​ Receive all incoming calls to the service and triage appropriately, transfer calls, or take messages as necessary. ​ Manage the service inbox daily. ​ Schedule and book workshops and appointments and manage the team’s calendars. ​ Attend group sessions out in the community as required to support with registrations and make refreshments. ​ Ensure all service literature is kept up to date and promote the service through agreed channels. ​ Attend team meetings, record actions, and distribute minutes. ​ Support with the preparation of reports, statistics, and case studies as and when re-quired. ​ Support the team with the making and posting of welcome packs, service information, visuals, and resources. ​ Contribute towards the protection of individuals from abuse by adhering to Daisy Chain’s Child and At-Risk Adults Safeguarding policies at all times ​ Ensure confidentiality is maintained and that Daisy Chain’s GDPR Policy is adhered to at all times. ​ Additional responsibilities ​ Comply with the Charities’ Health and Safety policy in all employment practices. ​ Maintain the integrity of the Daisy Chain brand in all internal and external communications. ​ Work in ways, which promote equality of opportunity, participation and responsibility. ​ Maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain the positive working ethos within the Charity. ​ Ensure attendance at staff meetings. ​ Undertake any training and development deemed necessary within the post. ​ Any other duties from time to time, commensurate with the level of the post ​ This job outline is intended to indicate the broad range of responsibilities and requirements of the post. It is neither exhaustive nor exclusive but, while some variation can be expected in duties, the outline is considered to provide a reasonable general description of the post. ​ This post is deemed to require an Enhanced DBS Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service due to the fact that there is access to children and vulnerable adults. ​ Person Specification ​ Experience: ​ Previous experience in an office environment – E ​ Experience of safeguarding with a good understanding of safeguarding protocols and policies – E ​ Experience working with and providing support to autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families - D ​ Qualifications ​ Educated to GCSE Level – E ​ Relevant level 3 qualification or equivalent experience– E ​ Skills ​ Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills – E ​ Ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals including professionals, parents, and colleagues – E ​ Ability to work flexibly and responsively in a busy and challenging environment – E ​ Competent user of IT packages – E ​ Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure – E ​ Understanding of safeguarding processes and ability to identify safeguarding concerns – E ​ Understanding of the challenges faced by autistic and neurodivergent individuals – E ​ Other: ​ Empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with autistic individuals - E ​ A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services - E ​ Resilience and flexibility to adapt to changing demands and challenges - E ​ Ability to work flexibly and travel across the Tees Valley & Newcastle - E
