We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to join our team.
This role can be based at either our Crewe or Southport site, with a hybrid working pattern available. The position will require travel to visit customers.
As part of the Customer Engagement Team, you will be responsible for renewing and maximizing sales for our Network Rail Customer. Your focus will be on account growth, contributing to targets for sales and gross margin as outlined in our Corporate Plan, aligned with our strategic goal of achieving margin accretive revenue growth.
You will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of the Customer Engagement System, including developing the strategic account plan and managing governance processes to meet and exceed customer needs throughout the contract duration.
Through effective relationship management, you will support the customer in achieving their business objectives in the short, medium, and long term. Your responsibilities include driving account growth, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing sales activities for your assigned accounts.
In collaboration with the Customer Engagement Manager, you will ensure customer satisfaction and help develop strategies that promote business growth, while proactively positioning for contract renewals and extensions.
Your duties also include maintaining regular customer interactions, managing operational performance reports, achieving budgeted sales and gross margin targets, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Person Specification
Ideal candidates will have customer account management experience, preferably within the Rail sector. You should possess excellent customer service, selling, and negotiation skills, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively at various organizational levels.
You must demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving abilities, taking ownership to resolve issues with a focus on continuous improvement. A strong understanding of contracts and commercial awareness is essential. Organizational and time management skills are critical for success in this role.
A good working knowledge of SAP and sound IT skills are required. Data analysis and interpretative skills are also necessary to understand and leverage data effectively.
