About the role

We are currently looking for Customer Service Officer in Ipswich to work a 7.30am - 3.30 pm shift on a full-time basis Monday to Friday. There may be some reasonable overtime required beyond this. The team field around 30 calls a day supporting our Humes concrete business.

About the role

In this role, you will be joining a well-established team who provide Customer Service support to our fantastic clients. Working in a fun environment you will be dealing with a wide range of people from labourers to project managers which combine inbound enquiries and outbound order confirmations.

Key responsibilities:

5. Handle customer enquiries promptly and courteously and advise of any delays
6. Process customer orders in an accurate and timely manner
7. Maintain regular and effective communication with both sales and production staff
8. Escalate any customer issues that you are unable to resolve to the appropriate department/manager
9. Consistently improve on processes
10. Duties may be varied from time to time consistent with training and skills and such varied duties are to be performed to standards that will be specified as required
11. Liaising with the Operation and Scheduling teams to ensure our customer's requirements are understood and met in a timely manner
12. Be the main point of contact for customers and employees

Skills and experience required:

13. Previous experience in a customer service or similar role
14. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable talking on the phone with customers
15. Available to work 7.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of reasonable overtime
16. Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to clearly communicate openly and effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels
17. Excellent problem-solving & conflict resolution skills are essential
18. Have excellent attention to detail & high-level proficiency in Google & MS Office

Experience using SAP to process quotes and orders is a nice to have.

It would also be great if you have experience in concrete, however it's not essential as full training is provided in ordering systems and product knowledge.
