Supply Hive is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a team full time from September. The school supports pupils who face social, emotional and mental health challenges, providing a structured and nurturing environment where students can rebuild confidence, regulate emotions and re-engage with learning. This role would suit a teacher who is calm, adaptable and passionate about supporting young people who may have struggled in mainstream education. As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll be delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs while helping to create a safe and positive classroom environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting emotional development, building trust with students and promoting positive behaviour strategies. The school has a strong pastoral focus and works collaboratively to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to succeed both academically and personally. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet individual learning needs Support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and behaviour Build strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies Work closely with support staff, therapists and parents/carers Create a consistent, safe and nurturing learning environment Requirements ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviour Strong behaviour management and communication skills Patient, resilient and empathetic approach Ability to build rapport and engage hard-to-reach learners Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority.
