Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP - Planned Care
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and influential professional leader to join our organisation as Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP - Planned Care. Applications are welcome from appropriately experienced registered nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
As a core member of the Planned Care Group management team, you will be responsible for providing excellent professional nursing leadership across the Planned Care Group, assuring the provision of safe, effective and also evidence-based care with an agreed quality and financial framework.
As Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP you will support the Deputy Chief Nurse by providing strategic and operational leadership and direction and will deputise across the full range of their portfolio. The post holder will need proven leadership skills, experience at a strategic level, and the ability to motivate and engage others as part of a multi‑professional team using sound management and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
* Work in partnership with the Associate Medical Director and Associate Director of Planned Care Group, with operational accountability for workforce, service delivery, clinical quality and safety, and financial control, implementing corporate objectives and Trust strategy within the division.
* Define care group objectives to meet corporate goals, ensuring quality standards are met and addressing performance where not.
* Accountable for delivery and performance of nursing/therapy staff within the care group, ensuring compliance with CQC standards.
* Lead responsibility for clinical governance in the care group: infection control, risk management, and management of serious incidents and complaints, ensuring action plans are completed and lessons learned.
* Provide clinical leadership to nursing/AHP staff, promoting high standards of clinical and professional practice resulting in high‑quality patient care.

Person Specification
* NMC AHP Registration
* Extensive experience of senior NHS management in nursing or AHP
* Master's degree or equivalent experience
* Experience of quality and risk management
* Experience of managing multi‑professional groups
* Experience of working across organisational boundaries and developing effective partnerships
* Extensive knowledge of patient safety and quality
* Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of professional and NHS issues and policy
* Ability to produce high quality written reports or papers to aid decision making and assurance processes
* Experience in managing budgets and delivering cost improvements within a quality framework
