Job Purpose
To follow company procedures and route card documentation to support production operations in the proof or final machining of components and test pieces. Main Duties & Responsibilities

Interpret 2D engineering drawings, specifications, and route card instructions

Plan machining activities, including:

Determining how to machine component features
*
Selecting the appropriate machine for each task

Establishing the most efficient machining sequence
*
Setting up, locating, and clamping workpieces (including centres, banding, and steadies)

Selecting appropriate tooling
*
Applying correct speeds, feeds, lubricants, and pressures

Carry out dimensional inspection and layout “mark off” prior to machining
*
Operate machines manually
*
Undertake basic programming using Siemens controls when required
*
Inspect components throughout the machining process and complete final inspections to ensure quality standards are achieved

Troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments

Deburr components and prepare them safely for movement

Operate overhead cranes (LOLER training provided if required)

Maintain clean, organised machines and work areas
