Geotechnical Engineer – Data Centre Projects Location: Flexible / Various Data Centre Sites Salary: Competitive (Permanent or Freelance Opportunities Available) About the Role: Black Book Resources is supporting a major client delivering Data Centre projects across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for applying geotechnical engineering principles to large-scale developments, supporting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and remediation designs, while ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities: * Apply geotechnical engineering methods and best practices at the project delivery level. * Conduct geoenvironmental investigations, contaminated land risk assessments, and remediation design. * Ensure all work is compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. * Produce conceptual schematic drawings, statements of work (SOW), and accurate budget estimates. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of Data Centre builds. About You: * 5–10 years’ practical experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within large-scale or mission-critical projects. * Strong background in geoenvironmental testing, contaminated soil/water assessment, and remediation. * Solid understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks. * Ability to translate technical data into clear, actionable project documentation. * Previous experience on Data Centre, infrastructure, or industrial projects would be an advantage.
