We are recruiting an Assistant Building Surveyor to join a well-established Social Housing Group in Cambridgeshire. As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of a high-quality property service across domestic and commercial homes, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained. Assistant Building Surveyor key responsibilities include:
14. Carrying out stock condition, maintenance and pre/post inspections
15. Producing floor plans and technical reports
16. Diagnosing defects including damp and mould
17. Supporting major works and preparing specifications
18. Ensuring compliance with building regulations, CDM and safety standards (asbestos, fire, legionella)
19. Liaising with tenants, contractors and stakeholders
20. Participating in the on-call rota and supporting safeguarding procedures
The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will have:
21. Ideally two years’ experience within social housing or a similar environment
22. Knowledge of construction, maintenance, building regulations and health & safety
23. Strong communication, problem-solving and IT skills
24. A proactive and organised approach
25. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
