Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer the opportunity to join our team within Emergency Medicine as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). The post will include cross site working at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Horton General Hospital Emergency Departments.

We aim to enhance and develop our team of ACPs, providing an opportunity for those who are experienced in emergency care to develop their clinical practice, knowledge and leadership skills while delivering a high standard of care to our patients.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate individuals who will commit to attaining a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice as well as completing the Royal College of Emergency Medicine ACP curriculum and portfolio. You must have relevant Emergency or Urgent care experience and be at least years post professional qualification.

ACP Trainees with varied levels of experience are welcome to apply. This post is a band, progressing to a on completion of training and portfolio of evidence of competence.

This role covers a variety of shift times including weekdays, weekends and nights.

Main duties of the job

This is a full-time trainee post, you will be working an clinical practice / dedicated study time (pro- rata) providing a / day service. The trainee ACP will be working alongside the Emergency Medicine clinician team and depending on the level of experience, will be developing advanced clinical assessment skills, be responsible for managing your own case load and assessing, treating, referring or discharging patients in your care with the support from a senior clinician. We have close ties to Oxford Brookes University who will provide the trainees academic education.

As a trainee you will work towards fulfilling the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP as set out in the HEE Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England. This will be achieved through workplace-based assessments in clinical practice, with a named clinical supervisor, and clinical supervision in the Emergency Department. You will be using the RCEM ACP curriculum as a framework and be expected to complete the Kaizen portfolio and aim for RCEM credential status on completion of your training.
